Child protection policy
Last updated September 2026.
Bill Foundation TZ works directly with children in orphanage centres and in communities. The safety and dignity of every child comes before any photograph, donation or event.
Our commitments
- No volunteer is ever alone and unsupervised with a child. Visits happen in groups, in shared spaces, with centre staff present.
- Volunteers do not take a child out of a centre, and do not exchange personal contact details with a child.
- We photograph children only with the permission of the centre or guardian. We do not publish a child's full name, school or home location alongside their image, and we do not publish images that show a child in distress or undress.
- We do not use images of children to solicit pity. Children are shown as children — playing, learning, eating, laughing.
- Gifts and supplies are handed to the centre or guardian for fair distribution, never used to single a child out.
- Every volunteer is briefed on this policy before taking part in a visit, and agrees to follow it.
Reporting a concern
Anyone — a child, a guardian, a centre worker, a volunteer or a member of the public — can report a concern about the conduct of a person connected to Bill Foundation TZ. Write to billfoundationtz@gmail.com or call +255 694 421 010 and ask for the safeguarding contact. Reports are treated confidentially, acted on quickly, and referred to the relevant authorities where a child may be at risk.
